Changing your registered address without a fine
You have 14 days to notify ACRA. Here is the BizFile path and what happens to correspondence in the meantime.
Notify ACRA of a change of registered office address through BizFile within fourteen days of the change. The address must be operational and accessible to the public for at least three hours during ordinary business hours on each business day. Until you update it, all official ACRA and IRAS correspondence continues to go to the old address, so file promptly to avoid missing statutory notices.
Your registered office address is where ACRA, IRAS and the courts send official correspondence. It is a public record, and it must be a real, accessible location — not just a mailbox.
The 14-day rule
When your registered office address changes, you must notify ACRA within 14 days through BizFile. The address must be open and accessible to the public for at least three hours during ordinary business hours on every business day.
The BizFile path
Log in to BizFile with CorpPass, choose the "Update Registered Office Address and Office Hours" transaction, enter the new address and effective date, and submit. The change is usually reflected immediately.
What happens to correspondence
Until the change is registered, statutory notices still go to the old address. If you have already moved, arrange mail forwarding so you do not miss anything time-sensitive — a missed notice does not extend a deadline. If you are also due to file your annual return, update the address first so the return reflects current particulars.
